Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machinist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience setting up and operating a variety of production machines, including CNC lathes, and possess a solid understanding of blueprints, tooling, and machining processes. This role requires precision, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. As a Machinist, you will be responsible for machine setup, programming, measurement calibration, and ensuring parts meet required specifications and tolerances.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and operate production machines, including CNC lathes, using correct tools, offsets, and materials
Program CNC lathes and calculate machine feeds, speeds, and angles for accurate machining
Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and sketches to produce parts to specification
Measure and calibrate tools and instruments; perform tool-proving operations as required
Ensure fixtures are properly fastened and shop aids meet quality standards
Monitor gauges, machine operations, and schedule to ensure timely workflow and part movement
Maintain accurate records and follow established work processes and safety protocols
May perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
Qualifications/Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent (Grade 12)
Minimum 2 years of on-the-job experience in machining or a related field
Formal machinist training or apprenticeship is an asset
Proficient in trigonometric calculations and feed/speed computation
Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and specifications
