Junior Supervisor Position

Must be capable to perform, train and manage all of the Inspectors Job Duties • Ensures that all Employees have seen our Quality Policies and that it is visual for all to see when possible or at the very least in a designated area. • Ensures all Health & Safety rules are observed and that our policy is visual for all to see when possible or at the very least in a designated area. • Ensures all Plant Rules are observed. • Assist with training, instruction and maintains all level of training provided to our Inspectors on our CVP documents, process and its applications. • Ensures paper work is completed properly and handed in at the end of each shift. • Participates with shift to shift communication. • Participates in any revisions and changes to current process within the shift and/or any new Inspection start up request by the Customer. • Ensures good & bad parts are identified and segregated properly in a Controlled Process. Good Parts (“SARL 100% Certified” Sticker or “Product Accept” Tag) & Bad Parts (“Suspect” or “Scrap” Tags). • Ensures that good and bad parts are removed from the work cell and that all of its corresponding paperwork kept throughout their shift is reconciled. • Ensures that all Visual requirements are posted, reviewed and maintained properly. • Liaises with Inspectors, other Staff Members, Material Handlers, Material Technicians, Quality Technicians and Plant Manager. • Audits frequently as per the Corporate Quality Guidelines - to validate and maintain training in Job duties and work flow processes. • Supports implementation and maintenance of ISO 9000 Certification Programs. • Participates in our Problem Resolution Process review and all of its follow up. • Understanding and use of the RT system to maintain inventory status and storage location (Unquarantined, NCINS, NCHOLD, Load Tags, etc. • Understands the RT Scanning Process – can operate a Scanner accurately & efficiently. • Assist and Support Warehouse Supervision (LOC) or off-site locations. • Ensure to maintain required inventory of Certified Material. • Request RMAs, EMSRs and Scrap Tickets from Suppliers/GM – arrange/prepare for the return or scrapping of suspect material. • Manage & Maintain RMA log on the SARL/ARL SharePoint.

• Recommends improvement suggestions. • Work Night Shift • Work overtime / weekends when required. • Understands and can proficiently utilize NESSIS (VWI). • Must be able to “create/up-date/revise” Work Instructions in NESSIS. • Review “Suspect” Parts with GM QSS, maintain and change NESSIS Summary of Sort when required. • Complete a Daily Shift Report. • Shift Planning - assure maximum output without jeopardizing inspection requirements (Quality 1st). • Set up Jobs for Inspectors – Ensure Work Areas are ready. • Train Inspectors – Old & New Employees. • Answer Questions from Inspectors pertaining to Inspection / Suspect Material, etc. • Collect & Verify Data from Inspectors to enter into NESSIS (Labour Report, Summary of Sort). • Verify Suspect Parts with Inspectors to ensure they meet WI criteria – Escalate when “Defect” is new to GM QSS or Supplier. • Review Defects with GM and/or Suppliers (ESEP) – Defect Summaries. • Take Photos of Defects for GM and/or Suppliers (ESEP) – Defect Summaries. • Direct Material Handler – Supply Inventory / Remove Certified Inventory / Transfer to CS. • Scan Product into Q1, NCINS, NCHOLD and Un-quarantine out of Q1. • Complete Supervisor Check Sheet, Defect Log, Shift Report. • Daily In-Depth Audits – All Products. • Maintain & Update VWI. • Clean Room 5S. • Must be able to interpret the CAW Union Contract and utilize it effectively and Professionally. • Must understand the ARL Escalation Process.
Education: • High School Diploma. (read, write and speak English). • Post Secondary Education would be considered an asset, but is not required. • A few years of past Automotive experience an asset. • A few years of past Leadership roles an asset. • Computer experience is an asset, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Email usage, etc. Skill/Experience Level: • The position will require: • Ability to lift weights up to and including 40 lbs. • Manual dexterity. • Physical dexterity. • Ability to read and understand written instructions. • Ability to follow verbal instructions. • Distinguish Colors. • Excellent interpersonal skills. • Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
