Technical Sales Desk

Reporting to the Sales Manager the Technical Sales Job provides quotes and orders for specialty services. They are the link between Company and its customers presenting the Company to new & existing clients, monitor orders to ensure they remain on time, on budget and where necessary inform customers of delays or issues with orders. They manage new and existing customer accounts and inform President or designate of account issues, monitor customer orders. The role requires advanced reading, writing, mathematical and computer literacy.

1. Process assigned customer incoming quotes and create RFP responses to potential clients. 2. Compile detailed worksheets and specifications from customer's orders. 3. Estimate type and quantity of materials and labour required for production, construction and other projects 4. Verify relevant sales/work order operations to contract items to for compliance. 5. Prepare quotes for approval 6. Locate raw materials and products for quotes. 7. Complete Quotes in computer system. 8. Ensure Customer requirements are completely defined. 9. All requirements are clearly understood and agreed. 10. That NFI has the capability to meet the specified purchase order requirements. 11. Tooling is available. 12. Review of Customer Purchase Order to determine the need for manufacturing Quality Plan. 13. Plan the manufacturing sequences ensuring the methods are consistent with best practices and operations are properly sequenced. 14. Document Work Order activities on work order form. 15. Update manufacturing quality plans for customers assigned as required during life of the contract. 16. Verify completed orders against tender forms, customer PO's and print shipping documents 17. Perform Contract reviews prior to acceptance to detect and resolve differences. 18. Verify contract against tender for compliance. 19. Ensure documentation generated is properly filed per company procedures. 20. Communicate with customers in a timely manner to resolve any contracts found to differ from tender or initial request. Page 1 of 3 21. Report to Warehouse Foreman any issues regarding the storage of material, missing material, mislabeled material, unidentified material etc. 22. Report to the Warehouse Foreman outstanding and potentially late deliveries. 23. Convert Quotes to Sales Orders when approved by customers. 24. Where customer material is supplied, fill out relevant documentation per procedure. 25. Review customer order for requirements for packaging and shipping, if different from the company's general procedure, transfer the information to the shipping document. 26. Expedite late sales orders. 27. Provide information on basic product/service features and benefits based on customer needs. 28. Collaborate with President or designate to determine necessary strategic sales approaches. 29. Create and deliver qualified opportunities to President or designate where appropriate. 30. Maintain and expand the company’s database of prospects. 31. Ensure follow-up by passing leads to President or designate with calls-to-action, dates, complete profile information, sources, and so on. 32. Where necessary, support marketing efforts such as trade shows, exhibits, and other events. 33. Make outbound follow-up calls to existing customers via telephone and e-mail to cross-sell and up-sell product and services. 34. Handle inbound, unsolicited prospect calls and convert them into sales. 35. Inform President or designate of new customers for the data base and send information to the President or designate for updating. 36. Investigate and troubleshoot customer service issues. 37. Attend periodic Sales Meeting. 38. Ensure sales quotations and orders are properly documented and filed. 39. Inform President or designate of problems with orders that require resolution. 40. Liaise with customer and Quality Assurance to assist in the resolution of customer concerns and complaints. 41. Identify and recommend improvements to processes to President or designate 42. Any other reasonable duties as assigned by President or designate 43. Must attend Daily & Weekly Production Meeting to update team on departmental workflow and challenges. General Duties • Perform general cleaning duties. • Report any damaged or deteriorating, missing, mislabeled or unidentified material to Quality Assurance Department for issue of non-conformance. • Comply with company policies and safety policies. • Understand the areas of the Quality System that affect duties being performed. • Report to management any activities which can adversely affect the organization. • Behave respectfully to others in and around the facility • Suggest improvements to the operations of NFI • Maintain workstation/ work area and equipment in a clean and serviceable manner.
