The Child Care Recruitment and Staffing Administrator is responsible for recruiting, hiring and on boarding Supply Staff and Front-Line Staff for the Child Care Department.

Responsibilities: 
• Oversee the recruitment process/activity for all Supply Staff and subsequent Front-Line Staff to support 49 Child Care Centres (school age and pre-school); partners with Regional Director to support recruitment for Full Time preschool staff and/or Child Care Supervisors • Recruitment functions include: o prepare and post job advertisements; o review resumes and select candidates to interview; o organize the logistics for the interview process; o participate as an interviewer for group or individual interviews; o complete reference checks, give verbal offers to candidates, prepare offer letters • Lead/deliver group and/or individual orientation sessions; arranging for physical space and supplies required; ensure all New Hire Payroll Packages are complete and accurate and follow up where necessary • Maintain and ensure Child Care operations tracking resources/tools (Staffing Chart, Supply Staff Chart) are up to date and accurate • Regularly communicates between Regional Directors (6), Child Care Supervisors (49) and Supply Staff (35-50) regarding shift coverage arrangements and supports in finding shift coverage • Reviews the Supply Staff Hours Reports and follows-up ensuring minimum requirements are met, utilizing mechanisms developed for maintaining the supply list (notification letters) • Provide coaching and support to Supply Staff; inclusive of 3 month Probationary Review process; escalates any significant performance issues of Supply Staff to Regional Director(s) • Ensure that all Supply Staff certification/medical documentation is current and documents reported to HR/Payroll for ongoing maintenance • Manage with tracking of Front-Line staff certification/medical documentation • Drafts and submits all required Payroll Administration documents for Supply Staff, and assists Regional Directors as needed for Front-Line Staff and Child Care Supervisors (Personal Information changes, Job Change Requests, Record of Employment Requests) • Will be required to maintain a work cell phone and when needed be available outside of regular business hours to respond to staffing needs • Other duties as requiredPost-secondary diploma/degree in a related field (preferred in either Child/Youth related programs and/or Business Administration, Human Resources) • 1-3 years experience in administration and staff recruitment • Demonstrated experience in hiring processes (job posting, screening and interviewing) • Strong working knowledge of Licensed Child Care systems • Ability to work independently in a decentralized environment • Superior attention to detail • Proven problem solving skills • Excellent verbal and written skills • Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills • Maturity and good judgement under stressful conditions and constant change • Advanced knowledge of relevant business technology including Excel, Word, PowerPoint • A clear Criminal Reference Check – Vulnerable Sector Search [within 1 year from date of issue] will be required upon hiring • Current Standard First Aid and CPR-C Certification ALL YMCA STAFF ARE REQUIRED TO PERFORM THE FOLLOWING ADDITIONAL JOB DUTIES AS RELATED TO COVID-19: •Follow procedures and policies to help reduce the spread of COVID-19 as established by the YMCA of Niagara and informed by the Ministry of Health and Niagara Region Public Health. •Ensure established groups are maintained and support the tracking of interactions between staff and participant son site. •Lead activities that support social distancing and promote the health and safety of everyone involved. •Encourage, promote and role model social distancing and responsible health practices. •Follow guidelines and sound judgement about when to wear personal protective equipment. •Visually observe participants and other staff and report any new symptoms •Immediately report any health and safety concerns to your supervisor and health and safety representative. •Participate in self screening when required, and act as a screener when required for staff and participants. •Stay home when you are sick or have any COVID-19 symptoms. Follow established call in procedures. •Participate in ongoing and scheduled cleaning and disinfecting of equipment and surfaces. •Follow proper hand washing procedures and ensure participants in your care are doing the same. •Participate in necessary meetings and trainings online utilizing your own device and wifi.
Qualifications:

Base Salary: 
Salary start: $40,000 to $44,000 annually, plus full YMCA benefits
Work Hours: 
Full time hours 40 per week, Monday to Friday
