POSITION: BAR/BANQUET LEAD
DEPARTMENT: FOOD & BEVERAGE
REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS, FOOD & BEVERAGE SUPERVISOR,
HOSPITALITY MANAGER
STATUS: PART-TIME HOURLY

The Lead is an integral team member of the Catering team as well as liaison
between the culinary and banquet teams. They will actively participate in service
set-up, break-down and cleanup of banquet and retail functions. Their highest
priority will be to support the overall guest satisfaction by ensuring that the
Catering team provides exceptional customer service while maintaining Sodexo’s
standards for safety, cleanliness, and sanitation.

Responsibilities

Essential Responsibilities
· Ability to follow a floor plan, for the setup and delivery of equipment/food for
retail, catering, and bars events
· Ensure that standards for health & safety, cleanliness, and sanitization are
maintained throughout catering and retail areas.
· Ensure Catering Team are following Sodexo guidelines, when it comes to service
i.e., Bar service and dinner service
· Monitoring all inventory levels during Retail Events, completing all inventory
controls; Transfer Sheets, and Stands Sheets (Opening and Closing Inventory).
· Ability to read and understand BEO’s, to know dietary restrictions, liaison with
culinary team regarding the menu, to be able to answer any questions the catering
team members or clients may have
· Contribute to goal of 100% customer satisfaction through personal commitment
to customer service and leading catering team.

Qualifications

Qualifications/Skills
· Appropriate combination of dedication and experience to support on-the-job
effectiveness.
· Ontario Smart Serve required, Safe Food Handling Certificate an asset
· Ability to maintain high accuracy for inventory controls
· Experience working with POS and digital register an asset
· Ability to work well independently and as a part of the catering team
· Previous banquet serving experience a must
· Ability to communicate and work alongside all departments to ensure a
successful guest experience
· Flexibility to work extended or irregular hours including early morning, nights,
weekends and holidays
Other Requirements include but not limited to;
Able to work effectively and safely while subject to wet floors, temperature
extremes, and excessive noise; must be able to lift 50 pounds in weight, must be
able to maneuver in an often tightly quartered environment.
