ADL Process

The purpose of the FL Operator is to ensure that the materials are loaded and circulated efficiently and in accordance with all company health & safety policies. The FL Operator works assists with the company’s productivity objectives while on and off the forklift.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift safely and efficiently
• Conduct daily pre-start equipment checklist.
• Load and offload material from trucks in timely manner
• Filling of scow using a rotator, outside in all year weather conditions (appropriate indoor/outdoor clothing is required to be supplied by the individual)
• Ability to double and triple stack skids, maintain order of materials on floor
• Perform daily forklift inspections - Identify Damages, & quality deficiencies
• Determine maintenance needs of forklift and report them
• Align skids properly in the designated area.
• Return tools, shovels, broom to their original place after use.
• Drive according to safety rules and keep a clean environment
• Comply with company policies and guidelines
• Understand and adhere to production schedules
• Must wear all provided PPE at all times.
• Assist the lines with tasks when necessary or not busy
• Sweep & perform general clean-up of the facility (inside and outside) daily.
• Cleaning up forklifts upon use.
• Additional tasks and general labourer duties when required

Qualifications

Must have a minimum of 2 years of forklifting experience in a fast-paced environment with uneven/imperfect boxes
Must have a valid forklifting certificate/license
High school diploma or GED
PREFERRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
Ability to drive both electrical and propane counterbalance forklifts
Good eye hand coordination
Working knowledge of computers.
Able to weigh, tag and input materials accordingly.
Ability to prioritize within production requirements/efficiencies
Have excellent time-management skills
Possess a good knowledge of industrial equipment
Good sense of judgement
Load/Unload material/boxes that are NOT in perfect condition (i.e., uneven boxes)
Have good attention to detail
Alertness
Move material quickly, efficiently, and safely
Proficient with numbers (math skills)
Good communication skills (verbal and written)
Punctuality
Flexibility & Teamwork
Ability to lift heavy weights/level boxes
ADDITIONAL NOTES
Must be willing to work with materials that has household dust.
Must have an excellent hand-eye coordination
Must be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
