We're looking for an organized, detail-oriented Accounting & Finance Assistant to join our Finance team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you'll play an important supporting role in the day-to-day financial operations of the organization while learning all aspects of non-profit finance.

About the Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Accounting & Finance Assistant provides administrative and accounting support across a variety of financial functions, with a primary focus on payroll administration.
This role offers the opportunity to build experience across a broad range of payroll, accounting, and financial administration functions while working alongside an experienced Finance Manager.

Responsibilities

Payroll & Benefits Administration (Primary Focus)
 Prepare payroll information for review and processing
 Track employee attendance, vacation, and leave entitlements
 Maintain accurate and confidential payroll records
 Assist with ROEs, T4s, payroll reporting, and compliance activities
 Coordinate benefits and RRSP documentation
 Support payroll reconciliations
Accounting & Administrative Support
 Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable
 Prepare bank deposits and maintain financial records
 Support GST/HST rebate documentation
 Perform account reconciliations
 Maintain organized financial files and records
Donations & Fundraising Support
 Process donations using DonorPerfect (training provided)
 Prepare charitable tax receipts
 Reconcile fundraising event proceeds
 Support financial administration related to fundraising activities
Grant & Financial Reporting Support
 Assist with grant tracking and documentation
 Support financial reporting
 Assist with year-end and audit preparation

• Provide administrative support to the Finance Manager as required

Qualifications

We're looking for someone who enjoys working with numbers, is highly organized, and takes pride in producing accurate work.
The ideal candidate will have:
 Experience in payroll, bookkeeping, accounting support, or finance administration
 Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
 Excellent organizational and time-management skills
 Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
 The ability to manage confidential information with professionalism
 Strong written and verbal communication skills
 Experience using accounting software is an asset
Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant experience will also be considered. We recognize that practical experience can be just as valuable as formal education, and we encourage candidates with relevant work experience to apply.

Base Salary

$23.34 per hour

Work Hours

Full-time (37.5 hours per week)

Experience Requirements

Experience in the non-profit sector or with donor management software such as DonorPerfect is considered an asset, but is not required. Training will be provided.
